This keeps the waffle soft for longer and still edible hours later!
At the weekend Hartmut made a juice from carrots, apples and whole lemons. We always think it’s such a shame to throw the vegetable “waste” away. So we simply mixed it into the waffle batter on Saturday. And – with the great result that the waffle was still tasty, soft and easy to eat hours later. A great discovery! This is how it works:
Make juice from carrot, apple and whole lemon.
Grind 500 g red lentils and mix with 500 g buckwheat flakes to form a dough.
Now mix a whole lot of the vegetable “waste” from the juice machine into the batter. Here in the picture there is not enough, we had already mixed in the vegetable “waste”.
The waffle bakes longer due to the vegetable content. So please wait until no more steam rises from the iron.
